This month the most important British nature conservation magazine called BIRDS , the RSPB’s members’ magazine, has published an article about the Danube Delta. The article features a few pictures of mine covering  6 full pages  and is written by my friend Mark Day. Printed in about 1.100.000 copies this is great news for the Danube Delta as it raises public awareness about the problems the Europe’s largest wetland faces in this developing world.

I was happy and honoured to be able to contribute to this article as this magazine inspired me as a young lad to start taking pictures of birds. My father used to have a collection of magazine’s issues received from foreign friends, collection I was able to explore carefully as my father would always keep an eye on me not to damage the pages. At that time I didn’t even dream I could be able to become a photographer.

Under the title - Romania – European Treasure, the Romanian Post has published a series of stamps and envelopes. The stamp representing the Danube Delta features a picture of mine, taken a few years ago. The Little Egret – Egreta garzeta is one of the most commune birds during Summer in the Danube Delta. The stamps are limited edition.
